Malaysia has established itself as a regional hub for doing business in Southeast Asia. It is one of the most popular destinations for foreign investments in Asia and many of the world’s largest multinational corporations have set up shop here. Kuala Lumpur, and Malaysia as a whole, attracts investors with its strategic location, world-class infrastructure, well-educated and multi-lingual work force and stable political climate.
Kuala Lumpur has been ranked by The Economist Intelligence Unit as the second most competitive city in Southeast Asia. A recognition for Malaysia’s credentials as investor-friendly country is its 12th position in the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ ranking.
Malaysia has not only become a business hub, but is also positioning itself as a regional training and education centre. The country has already attracted many world-renowned universities to open local campuses. Wide variety of local tertiary, technical and vocational education institutions further strengthen Malaysia’s strategic aim to become the sixth largest education exporting country by 2020.
